This Privacy Policy explains how Raven ("Raven," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you join our waitlist at askraven.app (the "Site"). Raven is an electronic music event discovery service currently in pre-launch. By joining our waitlist, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Who we are
Raven is the data controller responsible for your personal information. For any privacy questions or requests, contact us at shiraz@askraven.app.
2. What information we collect
When you join our waitlist, we collect your email address (required, so we can contact you about early access and launch updates) and your Instagram handle(optional, if you choose to share it). We may also automatically collect limited technical information when you visit the Site — IP address, browser and device type, general country/city-level location, pages viewed, and how you arrived at the Site — through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 7).
3. How we use your information
We use your information only to add you to our waitlist and confirm your signup; send you updates about Raven's launch, early access, and related news; understand interest in Raven and improve the Site; and comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud or abuse. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your waitlist email for unrelated third-party marketing.
4. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)
If you are in the EEA or UK, we process your personal information on the basis of your consent (you gave us your email to join — you can withdraw it anytime), our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Site, and legal obligation where applicable.
5. Who we share information with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the waitlist and Site (for example our email and form provider, hosting provider, and analytics provider), under contract and not for their own purposes; and for legal and safety reasons where required. If Raven is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, and we will notify you.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your information; withdraw consent and unsubscribe at any time; object to or restrict certain processing; and request data portability. To exercise any of these, email shiraz@askraven.app. We respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (generally 30 days). You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
7. Cookies and analytics
The Site may use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, keep the Site secure, and measure traffic. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. We use a privacy-conscious analytics tool to understand how visitors use the Site in aggregate; this does not identify you personally.
8. Data retention
We keep your waitlist information until Raven launches and for a reasonable period afterward, or until you ask us to delete it — whichever comes first.
9. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International data transfers
Raven and our service providers may process and store your information in countries other than your own, including outside the EEA, relying on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
11. California residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what we collect, request its deletion, and opt out of any "sale" of personal information. We do not sell your personal information. To exercise your rights, email shiraz@askraven.app.
12. Children's privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time and will revise the "Last updated" date above. For material changes, we will notify waitlist members by email.
